Progress / Development note
Why we start in a simulated process
We have built a synthetic bioreactor environment and supporting development tooling as a starting point for Evadapt. A bioreactor gives the ambition a concrete setting: oxygen availability, nutrient supply and changing operating conditions are connected parts of a process. An unexpected change can make the question of how to respond tangible. Our illustration uses falling oxygen to explain the intended experience, without presenting it as a result from the research.
The environment is now in use for prototype development. Early modelling and control components have been implemented, and work continues on developing and checking them in simulation. Repeatable development studies give us a way to revisit a situation as the software changes. Current activity also includes improving and checking simulation performance so the environment remains practical for ongoing development. These are milestones in building the foundations; they do not establish completed autonomous operation, unfamiliar-fault recovery or useful learning across batches.
Simulation is a starting environment, not an industrial deployment. A useful product will also need to work with real equipment, process constraints and the people responsible for production. We want future collaboration to begin with a bounded manufacturing problem and a shared understanding of what would make a difference. Evidence from that setting will be needed to assess industrial value. For now, the public story is the work being built and the questions motivating it. Research methods, findings and detailed implementation remain private.
